Plucky’s started with a simple idea. A cafe where the food is genuinely good, the coffee is taken seriously, and playing games together is the shared passion.
We took the part of board gaming culture we love most, strangers turning into friends across a table, and built a room around it.

Cook it properly
Fresh bread, locally roasted beans, plates that move with the season. The kitchen is the point here. Delicious food, made with high-quality ingredients.
Make it feel like home
Wooden tables, a wall of game art, and a mimic chest that cheerfully asks for tips. Regulars get remembered. First-timers get talked to.
Have a really good time
Slow mornings, long lunches, laughing too loudly at your own bad play. Relaxing, unplugging, and enjoying each other’s company.
So who is Plucky?
A pika is a small, very round, mountain-dwelling animal with short limbs, rounded ears, and no tail at all. Charming, elusive, and closely related to the rabbit.
She’s also our resident board game enthusiast, the one who explains the rules, suggests something you haven’t tried, and has a sharp remark ready when your grand plan collapses.
And why “plucky”?
Plucky means courageous, determined, and spirited in the face of difficulty. Gutsy and resilient, but playful with it.
It also describes what it took to open Plucky’s. A cafe built around board games, great coffee, and real food didn’t exist, so we made one.
We’re a mother and daughter, and building this side by side has been the best part.
The kind of place you come back to.
Breakfast, brunch, lunch, or dinner. A locally roasted espresso or a signature latte. A table that’s yours for as long as you like.
The rest grew on its own. Regulars who order the same latte every morning, and baristas who have it started before they reach the counter. Kids who know exactly which shelf their game lives on. Families at one table, old friends catching up at the next, and a game night getting loud a few tables over. Whether it’s your first visit or your fiftieth, the aim is the same. A fun, relaxing place to spend a little time.
